Some of New York's most complex construction happens behind closed doors, inside private homes. Here are four examples, and the specialist builders who delivered them.

Each presented a different kind of problem: a landmark shell, mixed trades in one room, a historic district and a new building rebuilt to a higher standard.

Notable Projects

Sky House, 150 Nassau Street

New York, NY

Built by SilverLining, Inc. A 6,500 square foot, four-story penthouse crowning the 1895 American Tract Society Building, designed by David Hotson with interiors by Ghislaine Viñas. An 80-foot stainless-steel slide runs down through the levels. Planning and construction took more than five years, and Interior Design named it one of the best interiors of the last 20 years.

What It Means for Hiring

Work at this level depends on project managers, superintendents and trades who are comfortable with small sites, high expectations and very little margin for error.

If that describes you and you are open to a confidential conversation, we would be glad to talk.
